3rd ALPHA Volunteers Group (AVG) meeting

Everyone interested in volunteering for ALPHA and contributing in his or her own way to our cause is more than welcome to our 3rd ALPHA Volunteers Group (AVG) meeting.

Date: Friday, 11th of May 2012
Location: Cafe Sho, Sodeco square, Beirut

We will discuss issues linked to the program development, fundraising strategy, communication & visibility, etc.

To allow all participants (children, parents, ALPHA Team and the community by and large) to fully benefit from the activities of the 5 centers

Acting for change
- Confidence & Partnership: ALPHA events in Tebnine could not take place without our 100 volunteers force rooted in the community.
- Engagement & Continuity: in 2012, ALPHA continues to help children in the South of Lebanon, within a region where conflict is still part of the daily life.
- Solidarity, Conviviality & Responsibility: in 2006, ALPHA managed to put in place a coherent needs assessment in 17 villages of the South for the organization of food distribution, relying on the Lebanese “aouni” system.
- Emergency & Sustainability: in case of security incidents, ALPHA collaborates with the Lebanese Red Cross and Civil Defense units, as well as the local social centers in order to protect children.
- Plurality & Openness: ALPHA’s team is strong because it relies on a fruitful exchange between men/ women, Christian/ Muslim, Palestinian/ Lebanese, integrating harmoniously into the community.
- Creativity & Clear Thinking: ALPHA’s activities are adapted to the peculiar, local environment, with a constant attention for the safety of children.
